Communication, we all love to interact with each other it might be on social media, IRL, or whatever, there are 100 ways to communicate, it can be a call, a text, or anything but the question arises is it secure?
In today's fast-paced world, it's hard to be sure that our conversations are private. Our communications often end up stored on centralized data systems, making them vulnerable to interception and compromising our privacy. Is there a solution to this?
What is web3, why should you care about web3, some of the flaws in web3...
Let's talk about a very basic problem that everyone faces: having an access amount of power in anyone's hand, giving control to any single entity, which is not at all good practice, which gave birth a new technology called "Web 3.0".
Web 3.0 is the technology of decentralization, where your data is not stored on a centralized database, at its core it stores the data on the different nodes of the blockchain. An example of misuse of centralized power that I saw was on X(Twitter) where the X team wanted to acquire @ X username and the team had taken it within the night. This can be avoided using decentralized social media platforms such as Orb, lenster...
But Web 3.0 have its own sets of problem and let's talk about one, is relying on the centralized communication platform to communicate with the end user, such as you and me... let's see a protocol "XYZ" had a major change in their platform, how will they notify? One of the clear answers by using Discord, Twitter(X), and any other platform, but as we talked about earlier these platforms are not at all reliable... What if they banned the official account of "XYZ" for no reason what will the protocol do?

To address this one big problem there is a need for a decentralized communication platform, a layer of communication in web3, we will have a deep dive in the communication but before that let's highlight some of the key players in the market who are really hard to enhance the web3 ecosystem.
Player in spotlight
Let's talk about some of the crucial players who are working to make this Web 3.0 ecosystem really accessible to everyone out there, making the Web 3.0 community more inclusive, more supportive, and more scalable.
Polygon Labs: One of the unicorns in the web3 sector that is trying to scale the Ethereum blockchain, using layer 2 solutions such as ZK rollups and optimistic Rollups
- Lens Protocol: One of the most crucial use cases of Web 3 protocol is to build a decentralized social media, and Lens is doing that by making a social layer for Web 3. There are various applications that are built on top of the Lens protocol such as "ORB", "Lenster", and so on...
- Push Protocol: Another flaw that needs to be addressed is of communication and push is trying to solve the communication issue by providing various solution such as push Notifications, Chat, Videos and Snaps. Let's deep dive into it and let's try to understand more about the communication layer in Web 3.
Push Protocol Context
As we emphasize on the problem of communication in web 3 and why these protocols should not be dependent on the web2 services, but let's talk about the solution...
Push protocol is the Web 3 protocol that is trying to bridge the communication gap between the end user and the Web 3 protocols, they are trying to do that by developing various products such as "Push Notification", "Push Chat" and so on...
Push had recently announced the feature to integrate the Push notification with Metamask snap, through which you get notified using your Metamask wallet, with no need for any third-party application/extension.
Push supports Ethereum, Polygon, and BNB mainnet which makes it multichain communication platform. Other than that push also have wallet to wallet chat feature, a video calling feature which shows that the protocol is growing at a rapid speed, other than that various other protocol such as Polygon, lens, Aave and Devloper Dao are some of the big names which use Push notification as the primary medium to communicate.
Dynamics of Choice
Incentivise: At web3 anything and everything can be incentivized there are no restrictions on that, from letting someone sell there art in the form of NFT to anything that can be monetized and that is the beauty of Web 3.
-
Access Control: User has access to everything, maybe you started a DAO and you don't want to enter a person who don't have certain skills, well we got you covered, you can literally control everything that you want to, and there are no hard restriction.
Synthesis
Overall web3 communication has tried to solve the flaws of communication, such as privacy, transparency by bringing data on the blockchain technology, now people can trust what exactly is going around and without their permission, nothing is going to happen, not even opt in for one channel to not even send the message. This is achieved using the blockchain technology
Web 3 communication tries to give the ownership to the end user to opt in into the channels from where they want to receive notification. This is the beauty of web3 the user has control on anything and everything.
In this article, I tried to explain the importance of web3 communication and why you should use it... Some pros and cons... Hope you like it. Hit me up on Twitter for any feedback. Thank you for reading till the very end. ππ»
