Persistent Storage

When handling large-scale tasks like video compression, managing data reliably is just as important as the processing itself. This is the main reason we decided to build persistent storage into our image and video processing APIs ensuring every step is as seamless as possible.

Persistent storage, often referred to as non-volatile storage, is designed to retain data even when power is lost. This feature is essential for ensuring data reliability, especially in asynchronous workflows where tasks can run over long periods of time or in parallel.

At ApyHub, we have integrated persistent storage into our Video Compression Job API to make sure your data stays secure and accessible throughout the entire process.

Here’s how it works:

*You submit a job—whether a video file or a URL with the query parameter persistent=true.
*The API processes the video asynchronously in the background, letting you focus on other tasks.
*Persistent storage ensures the job’s progress and compressed results are securely stored and accessible whenever you need them.

Why This Matters:

✅ Reliability: Just like traditional storage systems, our persistent storage ensures that data doesn’t disappear when processing finishes or if there’s a system restart.
✅ No Rework: Unlike ephemeral storage, which is wiped when the process ends, persistent storage keeps job data safe, so you never have to redo the work.
✅ Convenience: It allows you to retrieve your results whenever needed, even after long periods, without the hassle of starting from scratch.

Persistent storage isn’t just for databases; it’s crucial for containerized applications and APIs where data needs to persist beyond the task at hand. By integrating this into our APIs, we ensure that your workflows are more reliable, scalable, and flexible.

How do you ensure data persistence in your workflows? Let's discuss!
