As I said, I think the best way to navigate around a mac is by using spaces (built in fullscreen) I literally never use any app in windowed mode.
But most of my co-workers do use spectacle so I can definitely agree it works for most people!
There's also HammerSpoon for .. any automation really :-) But it's good for navigation / moving stuff around
