Thanks Jim! I'd probably restrain myself from doing it in a OP 5T as well, given that you still have support from OP and regular updates. OP stopped supporting OPO long ago, but it's still a very good and functional phone, running Nougat without a stutter so no reason to change it. Also, it's probably the most supported phone in the whole AOSP community.
All in all, it's nice to know I can run Android (with Push notifications and locations services) without having Google in. Hopefully that'll still be possible years from now.

The regular updates is a big reason I'm resisting. However, the occasional privacy slip-ups that OnePlus has made puts my trust in them in doubt.
That, plus my incentive to de-Google is a draw for me. Besides, if it goes sideways, I can reload the default OnePlus ROM.
