Sealing Thick Woven Sacks: A Look at the CS1680 Heavy Duty Band Sealer

Most continuous band sealers are built for light pouches. Thick laminate and woven sacks need more heat, more pressure and a stronger conveyor.

Where a heavy duty band sealer fits

  • Rice, flour, seeds and animal feed in laminated or woven bags
  • Chemical powders and granules in thick pouches
  • Any line where hand sealing is slow or uneven

What makes it heavy duty

The PackForge CS1680 is built for thick laminate and woven sacks up to 0.18 mm film thickness. The bag moves through on a conveyor, is sealed by heated bands and leaves with a continuous seal, so the operator only feeds bags.

Choosing settings

  1. Start at a lower temperature and increase until the seal is strong but not burnt
  2. Match conveyor speed to the bag material
  3. Test a few bags by pulling the seal apart before running a full batch

Maintenance

Keep the bands clean, replace PTFE belts when worn and check the cooling section so seals set before the bag drops.

Specifications and price are on the CS1680 heavy duty continuous band sealer page.
