Every now and again, there's a shift in how web apps are being created. Not so long ago MVC was the king and even good component libraries (like Ext) have shifted even though it was far superior with components. Then React, Angular.js, Ember.js... Each time there was a group of developers, the early adopters, who would swear that this is the best thing ever and would gladly criticize others for not seeing the light, still living in the dark ages of "a year ago". The reality of it is that only with time will we see if tools like React or Vue will move over to a more Svelte-like take on standing between the developer and the browser.

As for me - I think Svelte is a great example of totally useless waste of time. Instead of reinventing the wheel (as it is so perversely common in the frontend community) why not help other opensource projects get better? I think the answer is laziness and fame. It's just easier that way. No matter the fragmentation - the hype is king.
