From a text brief to a scored HTML email: how Kopi works

Here's the brief I sent:

Black Friday flash sale. 30% off all bundles. Ends Sunday midnight. Urgent tone. Brand colors: deep navy and gold. CTA button above the fold.
Enter fullscreen mode Exit fullscreen mode

What came back four minutes later: a complete HTML email with a nav bar, hero section, product grid, countdown reference in the copy, and a gold CTA button sitting at 680px above the fold on desktop.

That part I expected. The part that changed how I work: before I could export it, Kopi scored it. Layout hierarchy: 88. Mobile readability: 91. CTA contrast: 94. Twelve other criteria, each with a number between 0 and 100 and a short note on what pulled the score down.

I'd been using Klaviyo's template builder for two years. The builder isn't bad — the problem is it starts blank. You drag in a hero block, pick a font, realize the mobile preview looks broken, fix the padding, forget to check CTA contrast, send anyway. The design feedback loop only closes after the campaign goes out and click rates tell you something was off.

Kopi closes it before you hit export. The scoring runs on every generated email automatically — you're not running a separate audit tool or squinting at a contrast checker. The critique ships with the email.

A few things worth knowing if you're evaluating it:

  • It integrates directly with Klaviyo, so export is one step, not download-reupload.
  • You can feed it your brand's fonts, colors, and layout preferences and it holds to them across campaigns.
  • There's a public gallery at trykopi.ai/emails with 400+ emails that scored 80 or above — useful for seeing what a high-scoring brief actually produces before you write your own.
  • It runs as an MCP server, so if you work in Claude Code or Cursor it fits into that workflow without switching tools.

The brief-to-scored-email flow is at trykopi.ai
