http://perpetual.education is a design/programming school. We like to be part of the discussion over here at Dev.to / We have time-slots for free conversations for career advice IRL : )
Go with your gut! There are 20+ roles on teams like this. If you're not feeling the Ruby - just keep learning. Read fun general books like The Elements of User Experience, and Ruined by Design, and The Common Sense books. Enjoy the (not coding) parts. We've done some of our best months of 'design' - with no little green boxes in our github. : )
I went from traveling all over the United States asking people what they ate the day before to coding for a living (sort of). You can now find me writing here on Dev.to about my current shenanigans!
Thank you for this advice and the book recommendations! I have a contractual obligation to keep up those little green broccoli, as my bootcamp calls them, but I'm really having a great time making those commits by learning what I WANT to learn.
P.S. I checked out your profile and can't wait to see more! As someone more interested in web design, UX/UI, and front-end development, it brings me much joy to see organizations that teach it.
