Knowing how to find answers to coding problems is a skill just like any other.
In my opinion, the days of having to remember everything you need to know are long gone, there is far too much tech we have to use on a daily basis to be able to remember it all. Not to mention that it is constantly changing and keeping up is almost impossible while trying to get a days work done.
I think that knowing how to find solutions is acceptable, and I would more than happy to think that my developers do just that as needed, and I'd also like to think they share the results with the rest of the team...the good news...they do just that :)
