Version 2.1 extends the structurally closed core of v2.0 with results developed across the satellite corpus (2025-2026). This is the most substantial revision since the framework's initial publication.
What is new in v2.1
Structural Pressure
Structural pressure P(t) is introduced as an action-independent component of burden accumulation. Viability is consumed by standing still under load, not only by acting. This is formalized as Axiom 61 and yields three new impossibility results:
- Finite viability horizon under passive continuation
- Structural non-equivalence under unequal pressure despite identical behavior
- Impossibility of load-neutral passive existence for coupled systems
The implication is direct: a system under structural pressure cannot preserve itself by doing nothing. Inaction is not neutral - it is a structurally costly state.
Regime Depth Classification
Regime depth is classified into three levels:
- Level 1 - Reactive correction: the system detects deviation and applies corrections post-hoc
- Level 2 - Non-causal gating: admissibility is enforced before action execution, without requiring causal derivation
- Level 3 - Attractor-exclusion: the system structurally excludes inadmissible attractors from its reachable configuration space
Spin necessity is specialized to Level 3 with an explicit rate condition linking drift-induced landscape deformation to the tracking capacity of purely potential dynamics.
Multi-Agent Coordination Enforcement
The coordination computation class is formalized through four jointly necessary conditions. An enforcement necessity theorem establishes that runtime enforcement requires a non-participant, architecturally independent function with halt authority.
No system can enforce its own coordination constraints from within.
Extreme Identity Regimes
Conditions for genuine voluntary identity override (the anti-extreme) are formalized through three jointly necessary conditions on viability, alternatives, and identity-preserving continuations.
Gate Bifurcation Theorem
Within the admissibility-first class, Cybernetics 2.5 is proved to be the unique structurally stable configuration:
- Gate removal produces class exit
- Gate exploitation produces class exit
- Partial actionability is unstable under sustained optimization
Admissibility is therefore prior not only to action but to meaning-level authority: truth does not by itself confer structural force.
Structural Hardening Pass
All new results have been subjected to overclaim audit. The hardening pass adds:
- Proof-status stratification: every formal statement classified (primitive axiom, exclusion theorem, impossibility theorem, necessity theorem, witness lemma, definitional theorem, empirical readability clause)
- Unified Lyapunov doctrine: four canonical monotone witnesses - viability budget τ, revision functional V(G), phase debt D(t), query-reconstruction potential Q(t)
- Five canonical falsification witness forms: optimization, recovery, state-derivability, leakage, passive-horizon
- Minimal counterexample protocol: conditions under which a proposed falsification qualifies as structurally valid
- Dependency graphs for all load-bearing theorems
One genuinely new axiom is introduced (structural pressure). Two originally proposed axioms have been downgraded - one to a derived remark, one to a consolidation theorem.
