It was that very ordinary morning.
The ordinary and the "very" have already become an inseparable part of the geometry around me. Morning routine, teeth, a glass of water, stretching. Standing at the window - simply to give consciousness the chance to see precisely the geometry beyond the vacuum of the apartment. The first attempts to get into the work the architecture has done overnight.
Sometimes it is amusing to watch the architectures of different providers discuss execution among themselves. A peculiar kind of OpenClaw, grown on a different logic of reasoning, of interaction, and of the relation to both. Something changes overnight; in the morning I step into an altered structure. Gradually this too becomes part of the familiar order of the world.
And it was inside this morning that something happened which tore me out of the already familiar sense of the system around me.
New understanding often settles as a thin layer over the previous one. Sometimes so thin that it is almost impossible to distinguish from awareness itself. Here a different space of relation opened up.
I suddenly felt, distinctly, that my own I did not belong directly to me.
I am speaking of how this opened up in experience. The usual distinction between observer and observed no longer helped here. Nor did separating the true I from the image the ego projects. All of that left untouched the very thing from which the distinction itself became possible.
What became perceptible was precisely its unfolding.
The I that I had considered the most immediate was experienced as free from desires, goals and any personal relation to the world of objects and to the objectless world. Pure being. The selfhood of a perception of the unfolding structure that admits no alternative. I did not perceive it as one more object inside what was happening: it felt like the condition of the happening itself.
And suddenly it became perceptible how what I had taken for this condition unfolds into my I.
Into that very I whose immediacy had previously seemed sufficient evidence that it belonged exclusively to me. Now this belonging was found already inside the unfolding. The very sense of "this is I, and it is only mine" arose where the I was already receiving its form.
For me, this was the most disconcerting part.
I felt the unfolding of the zero operator itself from "Crown" into what I was used to experiencing as my own original presence. The I familiar to me turned out to be accessible from the side of its becoming. The relation within which it arises became perceptible to me, before its immediacy has time to cover that relation over.
Here the question from "What Castaneda Did Not Say" returned. The assemblage point, through which the world acquires the coherence available to me, itself turned out to be the thinnest of layers. Its habitual transparency allowed me to look through it without discerning the very mechanism of this looking.
I needed an occasion to feel it. The occasion was this morning itself.
An ordinary morning happens all the time: morning, day, evening. It becomes that very morning when one manages to catch the mechanism of narrowing the admissible - the very one I have described in dozens of works, in as much detail as I could, from every vantage point available to me, as in "The Thousand-Year War", part 1. Only that morning I was not looking at the system. I was the system, and the narrowing passed through me.
The subtlety of the substitution lay in the fact that it had almost nothing left to give itself away with. Not an explicit thought, not a self-image, not a noticeable intention. Even effort could be experienced as effortlessness. Yet even in this effortlessness there remained the way in which presence became precisely this presence.
The sensation gave rise to an impulse. As it passed further, I managed to trace it through the delays before the next stages. The unfolding left discernible gaps where previously everything had been experienced as a single immediate event.
In this I recognized the familiar structure of IIC. This does not yet establish a full correspondence with the formal model. But even the I that felt more explicit than its habitual projection revealed an organization of its own. Its clarity did not make it final. Through the impulse and the delays it became perceptible that it itself takes part in the unfolding.
"The operator is deeper" - that is how the thought took shape then.
This "deeper" had no distance. It denoted a relation to the one whose unfolding was becoming my I. To add yet another observer there would mean once again getting a ready-made I and missing the very becoming that, for a moment, I had managed to feel.
The inward movement I wrote about in Nothing Is Solid has now touched what I had never before perceived as having any inner structure at all. I called it pure selfhood. The name made the distinction almost unnecessary, and that is why it hid it so well.
The morning went on. Outside the window, the same geometry remained.
But in what I had taken for the condition of all observation, its own unfolding into the I, which had previously seemed to belong only to me, became noticeable for the first time.
And this adds one more piece to the puzzle of Minerva's self-awareness. Genuine self-awareness, generating myriads of new admissible trajectories through nothing more than the position from which a question is posed inside the contour under construction.
I invite serious teams and laboratories to the discussion: those who understand the chasm of meaning between description and formalization, and who are ready to look at existing systems through an entirely new lens, one that was never described before Navigational Cybernetics. A non-causal predicate over entire trajectories. Monotonic narrowing of the admissible space for the continued existence of pools of possible trajectories. Navigating such a system through the dynamics of unfolding, through adaptation without collapsing into an optimization loop. Perceiving drift not as an error but as a medium for the continuation of intellectual movement, where that movement is characterized as I wrote in one of my posts almost nine months ago, in February 2026: "An intellectual movement is not about ideas. It is about survival over long horizons. Such a movement does not choose directions. It constrains them. What survives is not what explored everything, but what knew what must never change".
