Local-first health analytics with Claude Code
Most AI health tools want a copy of your data so their server can answer. Claude Code flips that. It runs in your terminal, reads local files, and executes code, so the whole path stays on your machine.
The setup is small. Export Apple Health once, point a local MCP server at the export, and Claude Code can call read-only tools for sleep, HRV, workouts and 190 metrics. The difference from a chat client is what happens next: it can turn an answer into a script, chart, or CSV, save it to disk, and rerun it when fresh data lands.
A chat-only client tells you a number. An agent with a filesystem builds you a reusable analysis.
