PNG28 is a fast-growing digital platform in Papua New Guinea that recruits Affiliate Agents nationwide to promote its services. To support this, we designed a mobile-first onboarding and tracking pipeline that enables agents to sign up quickly, track their commissions transparently, and receive weekly payouts via local banks (Kina Bank and BSP).
In this post, I’ll walk you through the architecture, key technical components, and compliance considerations that helped us build a scalable, privacy-safe system tailored for PNG’s unique market.
Why Mobile-First?
Papua New Guinea has high mobile penetration but limited desktop usage. Agents often work from smartphones in areas with variable connectivity. Our onboarding and tracking system had to be:
Lightweight and responsive for low-end devices
Offline-capable for intermittent internet
Simple UI/UX to minimize friction for non-technical users
Weekly payouts are processed every Monday via Kina Bank and BSP. Our backend integrates with their APIs to:
Generate payout batches
Send payment instructions securely
Retrieve transaction confirmations
Notify agents with masked proof-of-payment documents
