StuckPoint connects browser coding activity to a local assistant engine, with context-aware help designed to support learning and development.
A coding companion that notices when you’re stuck and offers help suited to where you’re coding.
Inspiration:
Getting stuck while coding can mean switching between an editor, a practice site, documentation, and AI tools just to make progress. We wanted to build a companion that understands that context and can offer useful guidance without immediately taking over the work.
What it does:
StuckPoint is a local coding assistant project designed around a Python engine and browser and IDE extensions. The engine can receive activity events, classify coding context, detect possible stuck sessions, and provide API routes for hints and code suggestions.
Our goal is for the help to adapt to the task:
practice problems should encourage learning, while project and code review contexts can offer more direct suggestions. The browser extension is being developed to record activity counts without storing typed characters and to show code suggestions in context.
