Iโ€™m Building Portify: Turn Your GitHub into a Portfolio

Hey Dev community ๐Ÿ‘‹

Iโ€™m Steve, a developer who loves creating tools for other devs. Recently, I realized how hard it can be to quickly put together a clean, professional portfolio โ€” especially if youโ€™re busy coding and donโ€™t have time to design a whole website.

Thatโ€™s why I started working on Portify โšก โ€” a tool that takes your GitHub and instantly turns it into a polished portfolio website.

Why Iโ€™m building this

Developers already have their projects on GitHub, but showcasing them professionally takes extra effort.

Recruiters and collaborators want to see live, clean portfolios instead of just raw repos.

I wanted something thatโ€™s fast, text-first, and credible by default โ€” with optional visuals (like a screenshot or demo gif) when needed.

The current status

Right now, Iโ€™ve launched a simple landing page at portify where Iโ€™m collecting early feedback and waitlist signups. Iโ€™ll be sharing updates here on Dev.to as I build features step by step.

Whatโ€™s next

Auto-import from GitHub (projects, stack, role).

Clean, simple portfolio layout by default.

Optional live demo links and visuals.

How you can help?

If this sounds useful, Iโ€™d love your thoughts:

What do you wish your dev portfolio could show easily?

Anything missing that would make this a must-use tool for you?

And of course, you can hop on the waitlist here to get updates as I build.

Thanks, excited to share this journey and learn from you all ๐Ÿš€
