Sharing a stage: co-speaking with another guest at the same college event

A fest occasionally books two speakers for the same session or back-to-back slots without checking whether their content overlaps. Left uncoordinated, the audience hears the same idea twice; coordinated beforehand, the two talks reinforce each other.

What to actually coordinate

  • A quick message before the event: what's each of you covering, so there's no accidental duplication.
  • Who goes first, and whether the second speaker should reference the first's points.
  • Whether a joint Q&A at the end makes sense, or two separate slots serve the audience better.

The upside of doing this well

Two well-coordinated speakers back to back give an audience genuine breadth — one might cover the build, the other the career path — which is a stronger session than either speaker could deliver alone.
