If your EU listing was suppressed and the performance notice gives you days, not weeks, the problem is rarely the product. It's the data — and specifically, it's data that doesn't agree with itself.
Under GPSR (Regulation (EU) 2023/988, applying since 13 December 2024), Amazon EU works with your safety data in three layers:
- The compliance record (Account Health → Regulatory Compliance in Seller Central): your manufacturer block and Responsible Person block.
- The listing display: the manufacturer / Responsible Person details and safety information shown on the product page itself.
- The physical layer: the product, its packaging, and the photos and documents you upload as evidence.
A recent industry analysis (INNELS, 2026) estimated that around 7 in 10 Amazon brands selling into the EU still have active compliance issues — and that most sellers only find out when a listing disappears. That matches what sellers say on the Seller Central forums: the entries are per-store, per-ASIN, there's no bulk fix, and after submitting you often can't tell what has actually been checked.
The rule that fixes most of it: one master record, four identical places
Before you touch Seller Central, write down one master record per product, copied from source documents — not typed from memory:
- Manufacturer legal name, postal address, electronic address
- EU Responsible Person legal name, postal address, electronic address — copied from the signed agreement, not the provider's marketing page
- Product identifiers: type/model, batch or serial scheme
Then make those blocks read identically in four places: the compliance record, the listing display, the physical label/packaging, and your technical file. Most "invalid information" rejections are one of these four disagreeing with another — a postcode format, a trading name where the legal name belongs, an email that differs from the agreement.
Three misunderstandings that cost sellers the most:
- Your freight forwarder, warehouse or VAT agent is not your Responsible Person. The RP is a legal role under GPSR (manufacturer, importer, authorised representative, or a fulfilment provider that agreed in writing). A logistics address in that field will not survive review.
- If you sell own-brand products made by an OEM factory, you are usually the "manufacturer" in the EU sense — the factory's details alone don't discharge your duties.
- Warnings are per-store, in that store's language. English-only warnings on amazon.de is one of the most common suppression causes. A DE listing needs the German text, an FR listing the French text, and the same for the physical packaging.
What to check before you resubmit (the short version)
- ☐ Manufacturer block complete and identical to the label
- ☐ RP block copied from the agreement, and the RP knows this product is listed under their name
- ☐ Product identifier exists and is traceable — never invent a serial number to fill a field
- ☐ Warnings selected for this product's real hazards, translated per store
- ☐ A technical file started behind the listing: product description, risk assessment, standards actually applied, evidence
- ☐ Photos of the final packaging with readable warning labels, uploaded where requested
- ☐ You understand that submission is not approval — wait for the review outcome before assuming you're clear
And the layer most sellers forget: the packaging itself (PPWR)
Since 12 August 2026, the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR, Regulation (EU) 2025/40) applies on top. The part that bites distance sellers is packaging EPR: one registration per destination country (LUCID in Germany, the IDU in France, the ENV number in Spain…), and an authorised representative in every country where you have no establishment of your own. Ship to end users in five EU countries with no entity in any of them, and the arithmetic is five registrations and five AR appointments. Marketplaces verify these numbers per store — it's a separate check from the GPSR fields above, and it catches sellers who fixed their listings but never counted their countries.
Working files
I turned the checklist above into working files — the same structure, filled in as templates — and packaged them up:
- Free mini pack — the 10 field checks + a 12-point quick check, free: https://promptandskillco.gumroad.com/l/free-gpsr-mini-pack
- Full pack ($49 / $79) — the complete field map (24 items), a warning library in EN/DE/FR/ES/IT (24 templates + 11 supplementary), a technical file template with an instruction-manual key-points section, an RP provider price comparison (published prices, October 2026), the full pre-listing checklist as .md/.xlsx/.csv, and a PPWR module that works out your registration and AR count: https://promptandskillco.gumroad.com/l/eu-gpsr-listing-data-pack
Full disclosure: that's my own product. It's an information pack — it organises the data work, it doesn't appoint a Responsible Person, file registrations, or promise any listing outcome. But if your problem is "I don't know what data goes where, in which language, and what to check before I resubmit" — that's exactly the problem it was built for.
