Aluminum matrix composites are among the most widely used metal matrix composites in several industries, such as aircraft, electronics, automobile, and aerospace, due to their high specific strength, durability, structural rigidity and high corrosion resistance. However, owing to their low hardness and wear resistance, their usage is limited in demanding applications, especially in harsh environments. In the present work, aluminum hybrid nanocomposite reinforced with alumina (Al2O3) and graphene oxide (GO) possessing enhanced mechanical and thermal properties was developed using spark plasma sintering (SPS) technique. The focus of the study was to optimize the concentration of Al2O3 and GO content in the composite to improve the mechanical and thermal properties such as hardness, compressive strength, heat flow, and thermal expansion. The nanocomposites were characterized by FESEM, EDS, XRD and Raman spectroscopy to investigate their morphology and structural properties. In the first phase, different volume percent of alumina (10%, 20%, 30%) were used as reinforcement in the aluminum matrix to obtain (Al+X% Al2O3) composite with the best mechanical/thermal properties which was found to be 10 V% of Al2O3. In the second phase, a hybrid nanocomposite was developed by reinforcing the (Al + 10 V% Al2O3) with different weight percent (0.25%, 0.5%, 1%) of GO to obtain the optimum composition with improved mechanical/thermal properties. Results revealed that the Al10 V% Al2O30.25 wt.% GO hybrid nanocomposite showed the highest improvement of about 13% in hardness and 34% in compressive strength as compared to the Al10V% Al2O3 composite. Moreover, the hybrid nanocomposite Al10 V% Al2O30.25 wt.% GO also displayed the lowest thermal expansion.Viruses co-opt a multitude of host cell metabolic processes in order to meet the energy and substrate requirements for successful viral replication. However, due to their limited coding capacity, viruses must enact most, if not all, of these metabolic changes by influencing the function of available host cell regulatory proteins. Typically, certain viral proteins, some of which can function as viral oncoproteins, interact with these cellular regulatory proteins directly in order to effect changes in downstream metabolic pathways. This review highlights recent research into how four different DNA tumor viruses, namely human adenovirus, human papillomavirus, Epstein-Barr virus and Kaposi's associated-sarcoma herpesvirus, can influence host cell metabolism through their interactions with either MYC, p53 or the pRb/E2F complex. Interestingly, some of these host cell regulators can be activated or inhibited by the same virus, depending on which viral oncoprotein is interacting with the regulatory protein. This review highlights how MYC, p53 and pRb/E2F regulate host cell metabolism, followed by an outline of how each of these DNA tumor viruses control their activities. Understanding how DNA tumor viruses regulate metabolism through viral oncoproteins could assist in the discovery or repurposing of metabolic inhibitors for antiviral therapy or treatment of virus-dependent cancers.Due to the outbreak of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), combined with the risk of polio importation from Ukraine, we evaluated the presence of SARS-CoV-2 and enteroviruses in 25 sewage water samples from Romania, concentrated using the WHO method between January 2020 and January 2021. Surveillance for enteroviruses and SARS-CoV-2 are relevant in the calculation of prevalence estimates as well as early detection of the introduction or disappearance of these viruses. For SARS-CoV-2 detection, we used two immunochromatographic nucleocapsid antigenic tests as well as real-time PCR assays, produced for respiratory samples. The isolation of cell culture lines, in accordance with the WHO recommendations, was carried out for enterovirus detection. Twenty-three of the samples investigated were positive in rapid tests for SARS-CoV-2, while the RNA of SARS-CoV-2, detected with Respiratory 2.1 plus a panel Biofire Film array, was present in eight samples. The Allplex 2019-nCoV assay was used for the validation of the tests. There were three genes detected in one sample, E, RdPR, and N, two genes, E and RdPR, in one sample, two genes, RdPR and N, in four samples, one gene, RdPR, in five samples and one gene, N, in one sample. Eight samples were positive for non-polio enteroviruses, and no poliovirus strains were isolated. https://www.selleckchem.com/products/afuresertib-gsk2110183.html This study suggests the presence of SARS-CoV-2 and enteroviruses in Romanian sewage water in 2020. As such, our results indicate that a rapid, more specific test should be developed especially for the detection of SARS-CoV-2 in sewage water. To provide a new method for the evaluation of the compaction quality of asphalt mixture, a real-time data acquisition and processing system (RDAPS) for the motion state of aggregate with a small volume and high precision is developed. The system consists of an intelligent aggregate (IA), analysis software and hardware equipment. The performance of the IA was tested by regarding data sensitivity, high-temperature resistance, and mechanical properties. A new evaluation method was proposed for evaluating the compaction quality of AC-25 and SMA-25 asphalt mixtures based on an IA. The results show that the best transmission baud rate for the IA was 9600 bps, and the corresponding signal transmission distance was 380 m. Only one IA was needed to complete the state data collection for the aggregate within the asphalt mixture in a circular area, with the IA layout point as the center of the circle and a radius of 5 m. The IA conducted reliable data transmission up to 200 °C; however, its compressive strength decreased with increasing temperature until reaching stability. Traditional aggregate could be replaced by an IA to withstand external forces and internal load transfer. Embedding an IA into AC-25 or SMA-25 asphalt mixtures did not have a significant impact on the original mechanical properties of the mixture. The effect of the gradation type of the asphalt mixture on the IA motion state was not significant. When the compaction degree met the specification requirements, the motion data of the IA did not reach a stable state, and the interlocking effect between aggregates in the asphalt mixture could be further optimized. An evaluation method is proposed based on the IA for the compaction quality of AC-25 and SMA-25 asphalt mixtures with the compaction degree as the main index and the spatial attitude angle and spatial acceleration of the IA as the auxiliary indexes.https://www.selleckchem.com/products/afuresertib-gsk2110183.html
