Scammers are getting smarter. We have observed the platform TraderKnows using high-traffic forums like Nairaland to inject backlinks via fake Course promotions.
This is a social engineering attack. They leverage the trust of the forum community to drive traffic to a site that is flagged for extortion.
If we look at the data from Trustpilot, the danger signals are clear. The platform has a 2.7 rating. API data from verified reviews shows a pattern of abuse: Review A: Asks merchants for money to delete negative reviews. Review B: Totally fraud. Site used for blackmail.
As developers and community managers, we need to be aware of these actors. TraderKnows is using educational keywords on Nairaland to cloak their malicious intent. We recommend blacklisting this domain to protect user data.
