How to Unlock Your Chrysler Radio After a Battery Swap (Quick Code Guide)

If you drive a Chrysler (such as a 300, Town & Country, Pacifica, or PT Cruiser) and your car battery has recently died, been disconnected, or replaced, you've probably turned on your ignition only to find your factory stereo locked, displaying "CODE" or refusing to play audio.

Factory head units across Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, and RAM vehicles feature a built-in anti-theft security system. When power to the vehicle's electrical system is severed, the radio triggers a safe mode to deter theft, locking down the audio system until a valid anti-theft PIN is entered.

Historically, dealing with this meant contacting a dealership, proving vehicle ownership, waiting through long verification queues, and paying steep service fees just to get a 4-digit code.

Fortunately, there is a much faster, developer-friendly way to bypass the dealership and restore your sound system from home.

Step 1: Locate Your Chrysler Serial Number / Part Number
To generate your unlock code, you will need the unique details stamped on your radio:

Remove the Head Unit: Carefully remove the dashboard trim bezel and unscrew the head unit using proper tools to access the back or top casing.

Locate the Identification Label: Look for the white barcode sticker printed directly on the metal housing.

Identify Key Details: For Chrysler units, you typically need the Serial Number (often starting with letters like T followed by a string of numbers, or starting with CH depending on the model year) and sometimes the part number / date code.

Step 2: Instantly Generate Your Chrysler Radio Code
Once you have your unit's serial number, you don’t need to write custom lookup scripts or wait on support desks. You can retrieve your factory security code instantly using a dedicated online tool:

For Specific Instructions & Unlocking: Head over to the dedicated Chrysler Radio Code Unlock page to submit your details and get your code fast.

For General Automotive Audio Solutions: Explore the main platform at Radio Code Generator for other car brands and tools.

Step 3: Entering the Code on Your Chrysler
Once you have received your security code, entering it is straightforward:

Turn the ignition key to the ON position and power on the radio; the display will show "CODE" or dashes (----).

Use your radio's preset station buttons (1 through 4) to input your 4-digit code:

Button 1: Press repeatedly to set the first digit.

Button 2: Press repeatedly to set the second digit.

Button 3: Press repeatedly to set the third digit.

Button 4: Press repeatedly to set the fourth digit.

Confirm the code by pressing the astrick (*) button, the CD button, or the right seek/arrow button depending on your specific head unit model. The radio will immediately unlock and resume normal operation.

Note: Be careful when typing your code. If you enter incorrect digits too many times, the unit will enter a temporary lockout state and require you to leave the ignition and radio turned ON for an hour to reset the timer.
