I Totally agree with your point of view, as a matter of fact I've been planning on taking the path you've mentioned about creating a product (or more) that can generate a nice extra income every month, and I'm not counting on revolutionising anything. Actually I'm starting out as a developer just to tap a specific slice of market, which I'm familiar with. Being a developer is almost a natural step for me, since I've helped some close friends businesses, just by creating excel spreadsheets for them. I happen to hate excel hahaha but it works for small applications. My next goal is to start providing more professional solutions to those same businesses with more suitable technologies ;)
