We're putting together 2026 Ruby on Rails industry report, and we need the community's voice in it.
Why now?
A few things have shifted recently:
- Hotwire, Turbo, and Solid Queue have changed what "the Rails way" looks like
- Renewed interest in the "majestic monolith" over sprawling microservices
- More framework competition than ever for the same developer mindshare
- No recent, large-scale data on how the community actually feels about any of this
So we're asking directly instead of guessing.
Whether you're deep in the code every day or deciding whether Rails belongs on the roadmap, your experience matters here. The survey has three tracks:
Developer - tools, workflow, what's working and what isn't.
Decision maker - adoption trends, hiring, platform strategy, build-vs-buy calls.
Both - a mix of both, built for people who wear both hats.
We just want an honest, current picture, built from people actually using it day to day, not outdated takes, recycled opinions, or whatever's trending on a given week.
It's about 3 minutes, fully anonymous, and everyone who takes it gets early access to the full report before anyone else sees it, so you'll know exactly how your experience compares to the rest of the community before it's public.
If enough of us answer honestly, this becomes something genuinely useful: a reference point people can point to instead of guessing.
