Please read the article..properly..I have mentioned the exact same thing as the answer..that DOM is not slow . It's like updating any other object , the relayout and re-rendering process what makes it slow .
And also about the other things you mentioned about not needing virtual DOM ...I think you are missing the whole point of the article..We are not talking about whether Virtual DOM is only answer or not ..we are talking about how Virtual DOM can help us creating dynamic web apps ..and about diffing process I have exclusively mentioned too..how react uses it to decide the modified part ..we are not talking about whether or not diffing can be done without VDOM or not..
