Traffic Is Not the Problem. Your Enquiry Path Is.

A site can be doing everything "right" in search and still produce nothing. Pages indexed, impressions climbing, sessions arriving — and the phone stays quiet. We see this pattern often enough that we stopped treating it as a traffic problem. It is an enquiry-path problem, and it breaks in predictable places.

Start by defining what an enquiry actually is

On our own site, a lead is exactly three things: a WhatsApp message, a phone call, or a form submit. Not a pageview, not a session, not time on page. Until those three events are tracked as key events (we use GA4), every conversation about "why no enquiries" is guesswork, because nobody can see where the path actually stops.

Once tracking is honest, the failures sort themselves into a short list:

  1. The next step is not visible where the decision happens. A visitor reading about a service on a phone needs the contact action in reach at that moment, not three scrolls later or only in a footer. On mobile, our enquiry action stays reachable while the visitor reads; on desktop, the same action belongs inside the content, next to the claim it answers.
  2. The page answers a different question than the visitor asked. Search intent drift is quiet: a page written for "cost" readers gets visited by "who is best" readers, and neither group finds its answer. Match the page to one intent, then route the other intents to their pages with internal links.
  3. Trust evidence arrives after the ask. Case studies, real process detail and straight pricing information placed after the contact block might as well not exist. Move the proof before the ask.
  4. Speed quietly taxes every step. A slow mobile page does not just hurt rankings; it leaks the visitors you already earned, one impatient exit at a time. Treat mobile performance as enquiry infrastructure, not as a technical chore.

The diagnostic order matters

Check tracking first, then visibility of the next step, then intent match, then proof placement, then speed. Most sites we audit fail at step one or two, which is good news: those are same-day fixes, not rebuilds.

We published the full diagnostic, with the UAE and WhatsApp-specific failure modes we keep finding, here: why your website gets traffic but no enquiries — including the checklist we run before anyone is allowed to say "we need more traffic."

More traffic into a broken enquiry path is just a larger number of people leaving quietly. Fix the path first; then earn the traffic.
