USB Coding Expert: Two Boot Modes, and Why the Amnesiac One Is the Default for Client Sites

The question that decides which boot mode you pick

If you boot a full AI coding environment off a USB stick onto someone else's
machine, there are two things the owner of that machine will ask you, in this
order:

  1. Did you write anything to my disk?
  2. Did you leave anything on this machine when you left?

A portable coding tool that cannot answer both with "no" is not portable — it is
a favour you ask the machine owner to trust you for. USB Coding Expert is priced
at $149.99 and ships as a bootable image; the two boot modes exist to make
both answers structural rather than promises.

What is actually on the drive

The image is a complete disk: an operating system, the model weights, and every
runtime dependency the model needs to run inference locally. Nothing downloads at
setup, and nothing installs onto the host.

  • Flash it to any USB 3.0 drive, 16 GB or larger
  • Plug it into any x86-64 machine — Windows, Linux, or no OS at all
  • Select the USB as the boot device
  • You are running in under 60 seconds

There is no host-OS modification, no dual-boot entry, and no virtualization layer.
The machine boots the USB's own kernel and runs everything from the drive.

Mode one: amnesiac (the default)

In amnesiac mode the system runs entirely from the USB in memory. Nothing is
written to the host's hard drive, no registry entries are created, no temporary
files survive the session, and no boot configuration is altered.

Shut down, pull the drive, and the host is byte-for-byte identical to its
pre-boot state. Not "mostly clean". Not "we removed the temp files". Identical.

This is the mode that makes the tool usable in a client's office, a shared
machine, an air-gapped facility, or a hotel workstation. You do not need
permission to install anything, because you install nothing. You do not need to
clean up after yourself, because there is nothing to clean up.

Mode two: encrypted persistent storage

Some work needs to survive between sessions — a project mid-refactor, a
configuration you tuned, a conversation history you want back.

The optional persistent partition handles that, and it is encrypted with a
passphrase you set
. Without the passphrase the partition is unreadable. The
choice is made per boot: persistent when you want continuity, amnesiac when you
want the session to evaporate. The buyer documentation covers the first-boot
wizard for passphrase setup and hardware configuration.

Note what the persistent mode does not do: it does not write to the host. Your
state lives on the encrypted partition of your own drive, not on the machine you
booted.

Why the model never phones home

The environment operates with zero network connectivity during a session. The
model runs on local CPU/GPU resources — no API calls, no telemetry, no
phone-home, no exfiltration path.

That is not a privacy toggle. It is what makes the tool legal to use on a
classified or commercially sensitive codebase at all. If your code has to stay in
a building, the assistant that reads it should not have a route out of the
building.

Test it before you buy

The product page has a working interactive demo — describe what you want in plain
English, pick a language, and it generates real code in the browser. No install,
no account:

Paying

  • PayPal: send $149.99 USD to redman1309@proton.me — that is our PayPal account. Add a note saying you are buying USB Coding Expert and we confirm in the inbox.
  • Crypto: 0x078fE079A9440631Bc6AD722D7143dC382b4ea4f on Base (ETH / USDC / USDT)
  • Western Union / MoneyGram

We never use a paypal.me link for this account, so pay to the email address above
rather than searching for a slug.

Who this is for

Someone who has to write or review code on a machine they do not own and cannot
install on — a client site, a locked-down endpoint, a shared lab machine — and
who is not willing to accept "trust me, it cleans up" as an answer to "did you
touch my disk". The amnesiac mode answers that question mechanically.
