Designing Kids’ Spaces with Constraints: A Lesson in Practical Problem Solving

Every design project has constraints.

In software, those constraints might be:

Limited development time
Budget
Performance requirements
Existing infrastructure
Changing user needs

When designing a kids’ play space, the constraints are different—but the thinking is surprisingly similar.

You may have:

Safety requirements
Storage needs

The challenge is not to remove every constraint.
