Video Transcript Quality Checks for Search and AI Pipelines

A transcript field is not automatically a usable transcript. It can belong to the wrong video, drift beyond the media duration, contain the wrong language, or omit important sections.

Check alignment

Compare transcript timestamps with video duration. Flag segments that overlap incorrectly, extend beyond the end, or leave unusually large gaps. Keep alignment status separate from transcript text.

Check language and source

Store detected language, source language label, confidence, platform ID, creator ID, and collection time. Mixed-language videos should not be forced into one class. Keep captions and speech transcripts as separate fields because they may come from different sources.

Sample difficult material

Review long videos, noisy audio, multilingual clips, edited reposts, and repeated creators. Track missing media, duplicate rate, manual-review volume, and timestamp errors before scaling.
