SAAS stands for Software as a Service Application.
SAAS is a cloud computing service model for delivering the application on subscription basis rather than buying it.
Now what's that 🤔 let's have a look,
=> Cloud Computing Service Model
In SAAS applications, the entire application is hosted by cloud service provider and the application is all present on cloud, so the users buy subscription to access Application rather than purchasing them. So it do not run on user local machine.
=> SAAS - A Web Base Application
All SAAS Applications are web base and they are present on user's machine, they are available online on the internet only. Now, when we said that all SAAS Applications are web base, that doesn't means all Web Applications are also SAAS Application.
=> Example of SAAS Applications
Microsoft 365: It offers Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook directly on web without any need to install it manually on your local machine. Also it provides cloud storage service using One Drive where we can save our data and can access online just with an internet connection.
Netflix:A SAAS application where user can buy subscriptions to access and enjoy the applications amazing streaming service. User can access it online with an internet coonection.
Trello: It is a Project Management Software that is used to manage the tasks of the project efficiently in real time via internet. It is also an example of SAAS.
