Personally I just wanted to enjoy the DNS of Cloudflare while keeping the domain on AWS.
In general it is good to be prepared and knowing at least a couple of indipendent and isolated systems. Just this week Cloudflare was down.
Also Cloudflare gives you interesting statistics a little bit like Google analytics but at DNS level, so they are different but still very valuable.
