The truths you must know before starting freelancing

Nowadays, when you open social media, it seems that freelancing means freedom, dollar income and laptop lifestyle.
And seeing this hype, many people jump in without understanding the skills, market or their own reality.
Then reality hits after 3-6 months.
No clients, no income, no motivation.
Then many people think, "I can't do it."
But the truth is, the problem is not always your ability.
The problem is, you have entered the field before understanding the game.
One thing is not clear in advance.
Freelancing is not an easy money system.
It is actually a business model, where you have to manage all the skills, marketing, communication, trust.
Many people focus only on learning skills.
But in the marketplace, just skill is not enough.
Because the client is looking for solutions, not skills.
If you are a web developer, "knowing HTML" is not important to the client.
What is important is whether you can grow his business.
This mindset shift is very important.
Another big truth is that income will be slow in the beginning.
Because in the beginning, you not only learn the job, but also learn how the market works.
Many people make the biggest mistake here.
After trying for 2-3 months, they change their niche, start a new skill, and quit again.
But the reality is that most of those who are successful in the online world today were stuck in the same skill for a long time.
Because consistency is rare on the internet.
And the value of rare things is always high.
Let me tell you another uncomfortable truth.
There is not much competition in freelancing.
There is more competition for consistency.
Because many people start, but cannot survive the boring phase.
Clients do not reply.
Proposals are not seen.
Portfolios are weak.
Then most people quit.
But those who survive, improve, and build daily skills eventually get clients.
I myself also thought in the beginning that income would come just by learning skills.
But later I realized that communication, patience, portfolio and real problem solving are equally important.
That's why it's important to know not only excitement but also reality before starting freelancing.
Because hype will get you started.
But only if you understand reality and move forward smartly, you will be able to survive in the long-term.
The last thing is very simple.
Freelancing is not quick money.
It's a journey to build long-term digital assets.
And those who bring the mindset of building their own value, not just income, are the ones who ultimately advance the most.
