We Built IssueSwipe to Make Finding Open Source Issues Easier

One of the biggest challenges in open source isn't writing code—it's finding the right issue to work on.

If you've ever wanted to contribute, you've probably gone through something like this:

  • You open GitHub.
  • Search for repositories.
  • Browse dozens of issues.
  • Wonder which ones are beginner-friendly.
  • Close the tab because you spent more time searching than coding.

We've seen this happen to a lot of students and new contributors in our community.

So we decided to build IssueSwipe.

What is IssueSwipe?

IssueSwipe is a simple web app that helps you discover open-source issues through a swipe-based interface.

Instead of manually jumping between repositories, you can quickly browse issues and find one that interests you.

Our goal is straightforward:

Spend less time searching. Spend more time contributing.

Why We Built It

At Omnikon, we work with students who want to get into open source.

The most common question we hear is:

"Which repository should I contribute to?"

IssueSwipe is our attempt to solve that problem and lower the barrier to getting started.

We'd Love Your Feedback

This is just the beginning. We're actively improving the platform and would love to hear your suggestions.
