What I learnt from Hacktoberfest

As someone with not enough coding experience, making codes for organisations was actually pretty scary at first. What if my code is too low level ? What if I can't even find a project ? Basically thinking my knowledge was too less to actually 'contribute' but Hacktober proved me wrong in everyway. I found some amazing repos here --> https://discord.gg/hacktoberfest (official hacktober discord server) and did whatever I had learnt from YouTube and my college's DSC community.

Funny thing is I could not even properly pull my first request but somehow figured out everything, so what I want to say is give it a try.

You can watch some videos (do not watch a lot you will get confused) and then just dive straight into it. What's the worst that can happen ? You simply won't be able to pull your request but you can always ask for help so basically you do not need to worry if you are an absolute beginner.

The society is there to help ONLY if you are willing to ask for it.

P.S. - I would have loved to include the photos of my prizes but they aren't shipped yet lol.

Good work on pushing through the fear on jumping in Hacktoberfest 2020! The community really is supportive, you just have to ask for the assistance. Is there any particular videos or books that you felt help bridge the gap for you getting started? What's something you would like to see more of?

Sorry for the late reply. First of all thank you for cheering up on me. The developer student community of my college helped me a lot and I also searched up videos on youtube. Also the hacktober discord server was super helpful in finding repos. The community is so supportive and that was the main reason I could do anything.
P.S. - I got my swags today !
