– Day 1: Building the First Prototype

Today was my first day working on Asphalt Dreams, and I managed to get a basic prototype up and running.

At the moment, the project is still in its very early stages. The game currently consists of a drivable car, a simple third-person camera, a speedometer, and a basic environment used for testing and experimentation. To make the scene feel a little less empty, I also added a helicopter propeller as a temporary map element.

Most of today's development time was spent experimenting with different settings, testing ideas, and solving various issues. While the car controls are functional, they still need significant refinement to feel smooth and responsive. I also ran into a few problems with the speedometer that will need to be addressed in future updates.

Next Steps

The current focus is on improving the driving experience and polishing the prototype.

Although there isn't much content yet, seeing the car drive successfully through the environment was a satisfying milestone and a good start for the project.

This is only Day 1, but I'm excited to continue building and sharing progress as Asphalt Dreams evolves. 🚀
