CMCU-05A Thin Film Pressure Display - Quick Start Guide

1.Introduction

The CMCU-05A is an industrial-grade single-channel RS485 thin film pressure display launched by RunesKee Technology. Compact, stable, and reliable, it can collect data from thin film pressure sensors, display pressure values, and supports switching between three pressure units: grams (g), kilograms (kg), and Newtons (N). It also supports communication with devices via USB interface and TTL serial port.

Features include:

  • USB power supply/charging range: 5V;
  • Operating environment: -40℃ to 85℃;
  • Communication methods: USB serial port, TTL serial port;
  • Low power consumption: below 0.1W;
  • Communication format: Baud rate 9600 (adjustable), 8 data bits, 1 stop bit, no parity;
  • Communication protocol: MODBUS-RTU protocol, supported function codes: 03, 06, 16 (0x10);
  • Resolution: 1/65536
  • Address range: 1-247, default is 1;
  • Configurable parameters: calibration, average filtering, baud rate, communication address, pressure value, etc.

Note: The screen version adds a display screen to the non-screen version, but the manual parameters and software usage remain the same.

3.Usage Methods

3.1 Method 1: Power On and Use Directly

3.2 Method 2: Connect to a Computer for Use

3.3 Method 3: Use with Wireless Transparent Transmission Kit for Wireless Communication

Wireless Communication Connection as Shown Below:

4.Computer Side: Install USB Driver

Connect the hardware-side cables properly and plug them into the computer's USB port.

Then open the USB driver file in the included materials and double-click to install the CH340/CH341 driver.

After successful USB installation, open the computer's Device Manager to check the corresponding COM port number.

5.Computer Side: Software Usage

Open the software, select the port number (if the port number is not displayed in the dropdown menu, you can manually enter the corresponding port number), and connect to start formal use.

The top-left corner of the software has a graph display function, which can be clicked to view the pressure curve.

Multiple transmitters can be networked to display multiple pressure curves, with a maximum of 10 pressure curves displayed simultaneously.

6.Networking Methods

6.1 Wired Networking Method

[Step 1]

Set Address Number: Before networking, each display must be assigned an address number (configured via software or commands).

[Step 2]

Wiring: Connect all GND/RXD/TXD pins together, resulting in 3 wires to connect to the TTL serial module's GND/RXD/TXD pins (note that RXD and TXD must be cross-connected).

[Step 3] Computer Communication: Connect to the computer software via the serial module, enter the networking interface in the software, or select an address number individually to collect data. Device Communication: Connect to the TTL device and send commands to the corresponding address number to receive data.

6.2 Wireless Networking Method

[Step 1]

Set Address Number: Before networking, each transmitter must be assigned an address number (configured via software or commands).

[Step 2]

Wiring: Connect all GND/RXD/TXD pins together, resulting in 3 wires to connect to the wireless transmitter's R/T/-,

with RXD/TXD cross-connected.

[Step 3]

Computer Communication: The wireless receiver module connects to the computer software via USB. Enter the networking interface in the software or select an address number individually to collect data.

Device Communication: The wireless receiver's RXD/TXD is cross-connected to the TTL device. The receiver requires power, and sending commands to the corresponding address number will receive data.
