Building Tasbih Counter — My First Android App

After years of building .NET applications, APIs, enterprise systems, and developer tools, I wanted to build something a little different.

Something simple.

Something useful.

That became Tasbih Counter, my first Android mobile application.

The Idea

The concept behind the app is simple:

Remember Allah, Simply.

I wanted to create a clean and distraction-free experience for daily zikr without unnecessary complexity.

Key features
📿 Digital Tasbih Counter
🌙 Morning & Evening Adhkar
🕌 99 Names of Allah
📊 Zikr History & Progress Tracking
🔔 Daily Reminders
⚡ Offline Support
🔒 No Login Required
🚫 No Ads
🆓 Free to Use

The project is intentionally focused on simplicity, privacy, and keeping the user's attention on remembrance rather than the application itself.

What I Wanted to Learn

Building this app wasn't just about creating a counter.

I wanted to experience the complete mobile product lifecycle:

Idea → Design → Development → Testing → Android → Google Play → Improvement

Coming from a strong web and backend background, mobile development also made me think differently about UX.

On mobile, every interaction matters.

There is limited screen space, and unnecessary complexity becomes much more noticeable.

For Tasbih Counter, I tried to keep the experience:

Simple
Fast
Focused
Offline-friendly
Free from distractions
A Simple Product Can Still Require Good Engineering

One thing this project reinforced for me is that software doesn't have to be complex to require thoughtful engineering.

Even a relatively small application needs consideration around:

User experience
State management
Data persistence
Offline behavior
Performance
Privacy
Reliability
Release and distribution

The goal is not always to build more.

Sometimes it's to build exactly what the user needs — and keep everything else out of the way.

Feedback Is Welcome

This is my first Android application, and I'm continuing to improve it.

If you try it, I'd genuinely appreciate your feedback.

If you find a:

🐛 Bug
🎨 UX issue
⚡ Performance problem
💡 Missing feature
🛠️ Something that could be simpler

Please let me know.

Real-world feedback is one of the best ways to improve a product.

What's Next?

I enjoy taking products from idea → architecture → development → deployment → continuous improvement.

I'm also open to software development projects, client work, and product collaborations, especially around web and mobile applications.

If you're building a product or have an idea you'd like to turn into a reliable application, feel free to connect.
