AISSEE 2027 Registration: Complete Guide for Parents Starting Now

Kapoor ji called me in July. His daughter was in Class 5.

"Sharma ji, AISSEE 2027 is our target. January exam. Registration opens when? What do I need to have ready? What mistakes do people make at registration that cost them later?"

July is exactly the right time to start thinking about AISSEE 2027 registration. The families who get everything right at registration are the ones who prepared documents and understood the process months before the portal opened — not the ones scrambling in the last week.

Here's the complete registration guide.

When Does AISSEE 2027 Registration Open?

Based on the historical AISSEE calendar pattern:

Registration expected to open: September-October 2026.

Registration deadline: Typically 3-4 weeks after opening — approximately October-November 2026.

Correction window: Opens briefly after registration closes — typically 7-10 days.

Admit card release: December 2026.

Exam date: January 2027 (specific date in NTA's official AISSEE 2027 notification).

Results: March-April 2027.

All dates are based on historical patterns. Official dates come from NTA's AISSEE notification on nta.ac.in. Bookmark this page. Check weekly from August 2026 onwards.

Age Eligibility — Check This Before Everything Else

Age eligibility is verified as on July 1 of the admission year.

Class 6 entry AISSEE 2027:

Child must be 10-12 years old as on July 1, 2027.

Born between July 2, 2015 and July 1, 2017: eligible.

Class 9 entry AISSEE 2027:

Child must be 13-15 years old as on July 1, 2027.

Born between July 2, 2012 and July 1, 2014: eligible.

Check your child's exact date of birth against this range right now. Age ineligibility discovered at document verification — after exam, after results, after allotment — is a devastating outcome. Confirm eligibility before any preparation investment.

Documents to Prepare Before Registration Opens

These should be ready before September, not collected during the registration rush.

Passport-size photographs:

Recent colour photographs. White or light background. Clear face. JPEG format. File size within NTA limits (typically 10KB-200KB). NOT PNG, NOT HEIC, NOT PDF. Convert to JPEG before registration day if your camera produces other formats.

Why prepare early: photos taken in bad lighting, wrong format, or wrong size cause upload failures on deadline days.

Signature:

Student's own signature on white paper, black ink. Photographed or scanned. JPEG format. File size typically 4KB-30KB.

Birth certificate:

Original certificate from municipal corporation, hospital, or gram panchayat. The date of birth on this must match exactly what you enter in the registration form. Even one digit variation causes complications at document verification 9 months later.

Category certificate (if applicable):

OBC-NCL: Valid within the year of issue in most states. Must say "Non-Creamy Layer." Must be from Tehsildar or SDM. Must be from Central OBC list (not just state list). Check validity date now. If expiring before mid-2027, renew immediately.

SC/ST: From Tehsildar or SDM. For Central Government purposes.

Defence: Current service certificate from Commanding Officer (serving) or pension/discharge documents (retired).

Domicile certificate:

From the state you intend to declare as domicile. Issued by Tehsildar or SDM. Must be current. If recently relocated states — apply for new state domicile immediately.

The Registration Form — Fields That Must Be Perfect

Name:

Enter EXACTLY as it appears on the birth certificate. Not shortened. Not with middle name omitted. Not with spelling variation.

If birth certificate says "Rahul Kumar Sharma" — the form must say "Rahul Kumar Sharma." Not "Rahul Sharma." Not "R K Sharma."

This is the most common source of document verification complications. Name mismatch between registration and official documents.

Date of Birth:

Double-check before submitting. Read the DD/MM/YYYY carefully — don't glance. One wrong digit means the system may show the child as outside age eligibility.

Category:

Select correctly. UR/General, OBC, SC, ST, Defence. Wrong selection can only be corrected during the correction window. After that — locked.

Domicile State:

Select carefully. This determines which school's home state quota you're eligible for. If you have a genuine connection to multiple states — consider which state's quota gives you the best competitive position before selecting.

Class applying for:

Class 6 or Class 9. Correct selection critical — determines the paper and competition pool.

Examination centre:

Choose the city where you'll be in January. City-level selection — NTA assigns specific centre within the city. Choose the most convenient city for travel on exam day.

Application Fee

AISSEE 2026 fee was approximately ₹650 for General/OBC and ₹400 for SC/ST. AISSEE 2027 fee may be similar or slightly revised — check official notification.

Payment modes: Net banking, credit/debit card, UPI.

Payment tips:

Don't pay via UPI on the last 2 days of registration when server load is highest. UPI failures are common at peak traffic.

Keep payment confirmation screenshot immediately after payment. This is your only proof.

If payment fails but amount is deducted — wait 30 minutes. Most auto-reconcile. Don't pay again immediately.

The Correction Window — Use It Properly

After registration closes, NTA opens a correction window (approximately 7-10 days). This is the only chance to fix mistakes in the registration form.

Typical correctable fields: name, date of birth, category, gender, examination centre, photograph, signature.

After correction window closes: application is locked. Changes require contacting NTA directly — which sometimes works but is not guaranteed.

What to do during correction window:

Log in immediately when correction window opens. Review every field in your registration form — not just the ones you think you changed. Verify name, date of birth, category, class, exam centre. Even if confident everything is correct — verify once.

Screenshot the final confirmed registration form after all verification.

The Most Common Registration Mistakes

Registering in the final 3 days:

Portal traffic is highest in final days. Slowdowns, payment failures, OTP delays. Register in the first week when portal opens. If something goes wrong — you have time to fix it.

Photo and signature in wrong format:

iPhone HEIC format doesn't upload on NTA portal. Convert to JPEG before registration day. Check file size is within limits.

Expired category certificate:

OBC-NCL certificates are valid for 1 year. If yours expires before verification in June-July 2027 — renew it now. Not in May 2027. Now.

Name entered differently from certificate:

Parents enter the child's "common name" rather than the official name as per birth certificate. This creates a name mismatch that causes problems 9 months later at verification.

Not downloading and saving admit card:

Admit card releases December 2026. Some families assume they'll get a notification. Download it immediately when released. Save in two locations. Print 2 copies.

The Preparation Calendar Alongside Registration

Since registration opens September-October 2026 for a January 2027 exam — families starting preparation in July 2026 have a 6-month preparation window.

This is a workable window with daily consistency. Not ideal (9-12 months is better), but sufficient for competitive scores if the preparation is structured correctly.

July-September 2026 (before registration opens):

Begin Maths foundation — cover all Class 5 topics once. Start GK flashcard system — national symbols, states and capitals. Begin Intelligence type training — one type per week. Establish daily reading habit for English.

September-October 2026 (registration period):

Complete registration in first week. Continue preparation without break — registration process takes one day, preparation continues daily.

October-January 2027:

Timed practice begins (Month 3 of 6-month window). Mock tests from Month 2-3. Weekly mocks in final 2 months. No break for registration or other administrative steps — those are handled in a day.

For AISSEE 2027 preparation coaching in Jaipur that starts now and builds through the January 2027 exam — we structure preparation from July through exam day.
