I Stopped Building Features, All at Once

Hi Folks,
I STOPPED BUILDING FEATURES, ALL AT ONCE

Wondering Why ?!

I am developing a restaurant management software(RMS) to make the restaurant owners life better. I was trying to fix the features that I want to include in my RMS, I have gone through the features of, most of the RMS in the current market, and I did a mistake❗.

MISTAKE I HAVE DONE

I took a list of features from other applications and tried to include them in my RMS. Seems like a common mistake from a beginner right 😅.

Ofcourse, I am.

I WAS IN COMPETITIVE MINDSET 🏇🏻
I was thinking like, if we have more feature than others, I will get more customers. That mindset itself is wrong. Nowadays, when you plan to build some products, you will find, other companies are already there in the market with same concept/product. This will put a pressure on you.

To compete with others, beginners like me would jump into overload the product with more features, but you have to realize that you cant take you r product to market, if you keep researching and overload your product.

At Some Point You Have to Stop Thinking About More Features🛑

If you are on this stage, its time to fix your mindset.

YOU SHOULD HAVE MVP MINDSET

You heared about MVP right ? Minimum Viable Product. When you are in the inital stage of the business, You have to limit the features, In fact your product should have least and important working flow, and Everything you have now is not important. You can cut down the features for the first cut of your product. Once you are ready with your MVP, focus on entering into the market and try to find at least 5 customers. Let them use the MVP and you observe them, find more important things they and repeat.

When Keep repeating this, you would get a nice and mature product that someone really need.

Relatable ?!
