Sentence Structure Master Note

PART 1 — TREND / CHANGE

🟢 Structure 01 — Verb + Adverb

Formula

Subject + V + Adverb + Extension

Examples

Car sales increased significantly from 100 to 200.
The number of visitors rose gradually from 20,000 to 35,000.
House prices increased sharply between 2010 and 2015.
The percentage of students fell slightly from 45% to 40%.
Online sales grew considerably over the period.

🔑 Adverbs

slightly → gradually → steadily → considerably → significantly → sharply → dramatically

🟢 Structure 02 — There was + Noun

Formula

There was + a/an + Adjective + Noun + in + Subject

Examples

There was a gradual rise in car sales.
There was a significant increase in the number of tourists.
There was a slight decline in unemployment.
There was a dramatic fall in house prices.
There was a steady growth in online shopping.

🔑 Verb → Noun

🟢 Structure 03 — Saw / Experienced / Witnessed

Formula

Subject + saw/experienced/witnessed/recorded + a/an + adjective + noun

The company witnessed a dramatic rise in profits.
Online shopping recorded steady growth.
Solar energy registered a considerable increase.

⭐ মনে রাখবে

এগুলো ব্যবহার করলে বারবার:

increased → increased → increased

লিখতে হবে না।

PART 2 — DATA / FIGURE

🟢 Structure 04 — Stood at / Stands at

Formula

Subject + stood/stades at + figure

Examples

The unemployment rate stood at 6% in 2015.

It is forecast that online sales will continue to grow.

Formula 1

Formula 2

Formula 3

Subject + took the lead

Online sales took the lead, accounting for 45%.

Formula 4

Subject + had the highest/largest figure

Cars had the highest figure among all categories.

🟢 Structure 07 — Compared with / While / Whereas

Formula 1

Sentence + while + Sentence

Car sales increased, while motorcycle sales remained stable.

Formula 3

Sentence + whereas + Sentence

The figure for men increased, whereas the figure for women declined.

5 Examples

The figure for men stood at 60%, compared with 40% for women.
Car sales rose to 100, compared with 80 for bikes.
Bus usage increased, while train usage declined.
The number of visitors rose, whereas hotel occupancy fell.

PART 6 — FROM → TO

🟢 Structure 08 — Rise/Fall from X to Y

Formula

Subject + rose/increased/grew + from X + to Y

Subject + fell/decreased/dropped + from X + to Y

Examples

Sales rose from 100 to 200 units.
The number of tourists increased from 2 million to 4 million.
House prices soared from $150,000 to $300,000.
Unemployment fell from 8% to 5%.
The percentage of smokers dropped from 35% to 20%.

FROM = কোথা থেকে

TO = কোথায় গিয়ে শেষ হয়েছে

PART 7 — DOUBLE / TRIPLE

🟢 Structure 09

Formula

Subject + doubled/tripled/quadrupled

Examples

Car sales doubled between 2000 and 2010.
Tourist numbers tripled over the period.
Online sales quadrupled between 2015 and 2020.
Internet access doubled from 30% to 60%.
Renewable-energy consumption increased threefold.

PART 8 — INCREASE/DECREASE OF

🟢 Structure 10

Formula

There was + an increase/decrease + of + amount + in + Subject

Examples

There was an increase of 20% in car sales.
There was a decrease of 15% in unemployment.
There was a rise of 30,000 in tourist numbers.
There was a fall of $50 in expenditure.
There was an increase of 25 percentage points in public-transport use.

PART 9 — INCREASE BY

🟢 Structure 11

Formula

Subject + increased/decreased/rose/fell + by + amount

Examples

Car sales increased by 20%.
Tourist numbers rose by 500,000.
House prices increased by $50,000.
Unemployment fell by 3 percentage points.
Bicycle use decreased by 10%.

🔥 MOST IMPORTANT: FROM / TO / BY / OF

এটা অবশ্যই খুব ভালোভাবে আয়ত্ত করবে।

ধরো:

100 → 150

FROM → TO

Sales increased from 100 to 150.

BY

Sales increased by 50.

TO

Sales increased to 150.

OF

There was an increase of 50 in sales.

🧠 তোমার Practice System

এখন সবচেয়ে important অংশ।

শুধু examples পড়লে হবে না।

তোমাকে ৪ ধাপে practice করতে হবে।

🥇 STEP 1 — Copy Practice

প্রথমে প্রতিটি structure-এর ৫টা example দেখে দেখে লিখবে।

যেমন:

Sales increased significantly from 100 to 200.

তারপর:

Tourism increased significantly from 20,000 to 40,000.

এখানে তুমি শুধু subject + data পরিবর্তন করবে।

লক্ষ্য:

Structure যেন চোখে দেখলেই মাথায় আসে।

🥈 STEP 2 — Transformation Practice

এটা সবচেয়ে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ।

একই তথ্যকে ৩ভাবে লিখবে।

ধরো:

Car sales: 100 → 200

Version 1 — Verb

Car sales increased significantly from 100 to 200.

Version 2 — Noun

There was a significant increase in car sales from 100 to 200.

Version 3 — Saw

Car sales saw a significant increase from 100 to 200.

🔥 এভাবে এক data = 3 sentence।

এটা তোমার grammatical range অনেক improve করবে।

🥉 STEP 3 — 5 Structure Challenge

একটা data নাও।

ধরো:

Tourists: 20,000 → 50,000

এখন লিখবে:

① Verb

Tourist numbers increased significantly from 20,000 to 50,000.

② There was

There was a significant increase in tourist numbers from 20,000 to 50,000.

③ Saw

Tourist numbers saw a significant increase from 20,000 to 50,000.

④ By

Tourist numbers increased by 30,000.

⑤ Doubled/Tripled

যদি data অনুযায়ী হয়:

Tourist numbers increased more than twofold.

🏆 STEP 4 — Real Graph Practice

শেষ ধাপে একটা Bar/Line/Pie/Table নেবে।

তারপর graph থেকে মাত্র 5টি important data select করবে।

প্রতিটির জন্য আলাদা structure ব্যবহার করবে।

আগের দিনের 5 structures মুখে বলবে।

Structure না দেখে বলার চেষ্টা করবে।

⏱️ 10 minutes — Transformation

একটা data নিয়ে:

Verb → Noun → Saw

এই ৩টা version বানাবে।

⏱️ 10 minutes — Random Practice

আমি/তুমি যে কোনো data নেবে এবং ঠিক করব:

কোন structure এখানে সবচেয়ে suitable?

⏱️ 5 minutes — Error Check

নিজেকে ৫টা প্রশ্ন:

1. Tense ঠিক আছে?
2. from/to ঠিক আছে?
3. by/of ঠিক আছে?
4. singular/plural ঠিক আছে?
5. article (a/an) ঠিক আছে?

🚨 একটা জিনিস অবশ্যই করবে

একদিনে ১১টা structure মুখস্থ করার চেষ্টা করবে না।

বরং:

Data + Prediction + Highest

Day 3

Structure 7–9
Comparison + From/To + Double/Triple

🎯 Final Goal

তোমার লক্ষ্য হবে এমন:

আমি একটা graph দেখলাম:

2010: 100 → 2015: 150

মাথায় সঙ্গে সঙ্গে আসবে:

increased from X to Y

আর একই data দেখলে:

increased by X

আর noun form:

an increase of X

আর variation:

saw a significant increase

অর্থাৎ structure মুখস্থ নয় → structure automatic করা।
