Types of Paint Thickness Gauges
Paint thickness gauges come in different types depending on the surface to be measured, which we will examine below:
Electromagnetic paint thickness gauge
The automotive paint thickness gauge is magnetic and this type of paint thickness gauge is used for metal (iron) surfaces and a probe is used to eliminate the user's hand pressure to increase the accuracy of the measurement and a digital display is used to display the measurement result.
Vortex paint thickness gauge
This type of paint thickness gauge is used to measure and test the paint thickness of non-ferrous but conductive and metallic surfaces such as aluminum. This type of paint thickness gauge creates a magnetic field on the surface and displays the result on the display.
Ultrasonic paint thickness gauge
This type of paint thickness gauge is for non-metallic surfaces and the ultrasonic pulse is introduced to the desired non-metallic surface and its reflection is actually the result of measuring the surface thickness and is displayed on the display.
