๐ Starting from Zero
Just a few days ago, I didn't even have a GitHub account.
Now, I have a profile, a blog, and a goal:
To become a software engineer and move abroad with my family someday.
This is how I got started.
๐ค Step 1: Choosing My Dev Name
I created a GitHub account under the name sankworks
, a combination of my name and the idea that I'm building something. It feels like the first brick of a very long but exciting road.
๐๏ธ Step 2: Making My Profile
I created a repository named sankworks
and added a simple README that introduces myself:
- ๐ฐ๐ท Korean civil servant learning to code
- ๐จโ๐ฉโ๐ฆ Studying for my family and future
- ๐งโ๐ป Dreaming of becoming a developer and building smart homes
- ๐ซ Contact: sankworks@gmail.com
It felt silly at firstโฆ but writing it down made the dream feel real.
โ๏ธ Step 3: Joining dev.to
I wanted a place to document my journey โ not just code, but the why behind it.
Thatโs why I joined dev.to and wrote my first post:
Why Iโm Learning to Code as a Civil Servant in Korea
๐ญ Why I'm Sharing This
Iโm still a total beginner.
Iโve only written a basic Python login script so far.
But Iโm learning every day โ and maybe this post will inspire someone else out there whoโs also starting late, or starting scared.
If thatโs you: youโre not alone. Letโs keep going. ๐ช
Thanks for reading! ๐
