How Oya AI Works: MeetOye's Built-in Meeting Intelligence Explained

Oya is the AI assistant built into MeetOye (meetoye.com). It is not a third-party integration, not a bot you invite, and not a premium add-on — it is part of the platform itself. Here is exactly what it does during and after every meeting.

What Oya does during a meeting

Live transcription

From the moment the meeting starts, Oya transcribes the conversation in real time. The transcript is speaker-labeled — each spoken segment is attributed to the participant who said it. Participants can view the live transcript in the Oya panel on the side of the meeting interface.

Live captions

Real-time captions are overlaid on the meeting for participants who want them, without opening the transcript panel. These are accessible to all participants by default.

Live translation

For multilingual meetings, Oya can translate captions in real time across supported languages. A participant who prefers to follow the meeting in Spanish can see translated captions while the meeting is conducted in English.

Ask Oya (during the meeting)

Participants can ask Oya questions about the meeting in progress — "what did we just decide?" or "can you summarize the last five minutes?" — and Oya answers based on the live transcript context.

What Oya does after a meeting

Recap generation

When the meeting ends, Oya analyzes the full transcript and generates a structured recap: a narrative summary of what was discussed, a list of key decisions made, and a list of action items with the speaker who committed to each one.

Recap email

Every meeting attendee receives the recap by email automatically. No one needs to write it, approve it, or send it. The email arrives before attendees have opened their next task.

Ask Oya (after the meeting)

Meeting participants can return to the meeting record and ask Oya questions about what was discussed — "what was the decision on the pricing model?" — and Oya answers based on the saved transcript.

What Oya does not do

• Oya does not use your meeting content to train external AI models.
• In strict E2EE mode, Oya is disabled — no transcription or recording, and media stays in participant browsers.
• Workspace administrators can configure retention periods, AI feature access, and privacy settings at the organizational level.
