What I Built

Meet ChaiStride — the anti-doomscroll chai walk companion that aggressively evicts developers from their desks and pushes them outside into the evening air.

The Problem

Developers and tech workers spend 8 to 12 hours a day hunched over IDEs, terminals, and merge conflicts. By 5:30 PM, our cervical spine looks like a boiled prawn, our retinas burn from OLED contrast, and our natural reflex is to doomscroll tech Twitter, Reddit, or LinkedIn from the exact same chair.

Traditional wellness apps fail because they try to keep your attention on the screen with graphs and gamified badges.

The ChaiStride Solution

ChaiStride turns screen time into the shortest part of the experience (under 15 seconds):

1. One-Click Outdoor Micro-Quests: Hit one button to roll a quick 15–25 minute neighborhood walk mission (e.g. "Walk 1.4 km to the corner tea tapri under the peepal tree, order an adrak cutting chai, and listen to the birds").
2. 20-Minute Screen Lockout: The app locks your interface with an outdoor countdown timer.
3. Tab-Switch Focus Guardian & Samosa Debt: If you try to sneak back to Slack, GitHub, or VS Code while on a walk, ChaiStride's Focus Guardian detects window blur via the Page Visibility API, sounds an audible buzzer via the Web Audio API, and slaps a +1 Samosa Debt on your squad ledger ("If you check Jira before the timer hits zero, you owe the team samosas!").
4. Chai Squad Streaks & Sync Parties: Track daily streaks with friends, send nudges to desk-bound teammates, and host synchronized team walks.
