AI agent workspace isolation: why I stopped using Docker for sandboxes.
I used Docker for AI agent isolation
For a long time, I used Docker containers to isolate AI agents from my main system. It worked, but it was heavy.
The problems with Docker
- Slow startup
- Lots of disk space
- Complex to set up
- Overkill for simple isolation
What I switched to
I switched to mapping folders to drive letters using subst.scsoi.com.
Why it's better
- Instant startup
- Almost no disk space
- Simple GUI
- No learning curve
- One-time purchase
The bottom line
Docker is great for complex deployments, but for isolating AI agents on Windows, drive letter mapping is simpler and more affordable.
