AI agent workspace isolation: why I stopped using Docker for sandboxes.
The problem with Docker
Docker is heavy. It uses a lot of resources. Setting up a container for every AI agent task is overkill.
The simpler way
On Windows, I use subst.scsoi.com to map a folder to a drive letter.
The AI agent sees only that drive. It can't touch anything outside.
Why it's better than Docker
- Lighter weight
- No Docker daemon needed
- No learning curve
- One-time purchase
- OS-level isolation
The bottom line
If you're running AI agents on Windows and want simple, reliable isolation, give subst.scsoi.com a try. For cloud/WebDAV drives, check out drive.scsoi.com.
