Mount Koofr as a Windows Drive Letter for 5.5

Koofr Without the Web App

Koofr is a European cloud storage service with apps on every platform. The web app is fine. The desktop sync app is also fine. But fine is not "open a file in any app and edit in place."

Mount Koofr as a Windows drive letter and you skip both apps. K: drive. Treat Koofr like a local hard drive that happens to live in a datacenter in Frankfurt.

The WebDAV Trick

Koofr ships native WebDAV support. The endpoint is https://app.koofr.net/dav/Koofr. Username: your Koofr email. Password: an app password from the Koofr security settings (not your account password).

ScsDriver is a one-time fee:

  • Monthly: $1.5 (cancel any time)
  • Yearly: $5.5
  • Lifetime: $5.5 (single payment, yours forever)

That is not a typo. The lifetime plan costs the same as the yearly plan.

Mount K: in 60 Seconds

  1. Log in to Koofr web app. Go to Account -> Security. Generate an app password.
  2. Install ScsDriver and open it.
  3. Server: https://app.koofr.net/dav/Koofr
  4. Username: your Koofr email. Password: the app password.
  5. Pick a drive letter. K: is the obvious choice.
  6. Click Connect. Koofr is now K:.

What Works on K:

  • Open a 2 GB Photoshop PSD directly from K: drive. No download, no upload button.
  • Mount Koofr alongside OneDrive, Google Drive, or any other WebDAV mount. ScsDriver supports multiple drives at once.
  • Sleep and hibernation: ScsDriver keeps the WebDAV connection alive across power state changes.
  • Koofr's free tier gives you 10 GB. Mount that as K: drive and you have 10 GB of streaming European cloud storage for free.
  • GDPR-compliant storage. Your files never leave the EU. The Koofr datacenter is in Frankfurt, Germany.

Why Koofr, Not Dropbox or Google Drive

Dropbox is 9.99 USD per 100 GB per month. Google Drive is 1.99 USD per 100 GB per month. Koofr is similar pricing but the files stay in Europe. If you are in the EU, Koofr is the cheapest GDPR-clean cloud drive you can mount as a Windows drive.

Pair Koofr with ScsDriver at 5.5 USD lifetime, and you have a working cloud drive that respects EU data residency. The mount tool is a one-time 5.5 USD payment, yours forever.

Pricing Math

The monthly ScsDriver plan is $1.5. After 4 months you have paid $6. The lifetime plan is $5.5. From month 5 onward, the lifetime plan is free.

If you keep the tool for 6 months, lifetime saves you 50 cents per month. Over 5 years, lifetime saves you 90 dollars.

A Final Note

Koofr is one of the few cloud drives that ships WebDAV out of the box. No gateway, no proxy, no custom WAF rule. Just the URL, your email, an app password, and ScsDriver. Mount your Koofr today: https://drive.scsoi.com/
