For a dire situation with a simple solution (investing efforts into Recruitment improvements) I am really hoping that everyone does not start drawing the wrong conclusions from this, by using these kind of stories to go against:

  • Remote work
  • Global operations
  • Intercultural exchange

As humans, we've only scratched the surface on the evolution of the work environment.

Sorry bro, wasn't intentional. It was a name out of the hat to provide anonymity.

I wasn't part of the interview, only part of the shit show. I was very much a junior compared to him on paper and I sniffed him out in the first month. But it took a while for the rest of the team to catch on.

And yes, we did notify the other company but nothing ever came of it. Who knows what he's doing now. He really killed our circle of trust and we were shaken for quite a while.
