They seem to be fairly new to the ecosystem, and the foundational paradigms do make Linux generally more secure than Windows on a default level (and is why Windows adopted some of said paradigms). Where people get caught is that "more secure" does not equate to "bulletproof" (in other words, being more secure than Windows does not negate the need for tools like antivirus software).
