Celebrating International Women's Day with Stories & Donations to Girls Who Code
“Nevertheless, She Coded” is an annual celebration of women who code on International Women's Day (March 8, 2022). Over the years #SheCoded has evolved into a powerful library of women’s experiences with technical triumph, gender inequity, discrimination, and courage. This year, we’re collecting stories from women, non-binary folks, and allies in our community in an effort to #BreaktheBias and close the gender gap in tech. We. invite the women in our community to contribute a SheCoded post — long after International Women's Day.
For #SheCoded 2022, DEV donated $10 for every story published to Girls Who Code — a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating opportunities and belonging for women and girls in technology. GitHub generously offered to match our donations for a total of $20 per #SheCoded post!
Breaking the bias against women in tech will require our collective support and advocacy. We invite you to read our community’s #SheCoded collection and to share your own story or words of advice for others.
