Dual boot ubuntu along with Windows 10

Ubuntu is a linux OS. It is a biginner friendly and it has less virus risks when compared with Windows.

Dual boot means using windows as well as ubuntu by making a partition in storage of the device.

Steps to dual boot ubuntu along with Windows 10:

Creating a back up before dual booting is good in order to avoid risk of loosing personal data, which unlikely won't occur if you follow the following command.

STEP-1
Go to https://ubuntu.com/download/desktop and download the desired ubuntu version.

STEP-2
You have to create a bootable device and boot ubuntu using it. My personal preference is Rufus https://rufus.ie/

STEP-3
Note down the partition of ur drives i.e. their size.

STEP-4
Plug in the bootable device and restart the computer

STEP-5
Enter the BIOS of the device using f2 or whichever key is assigned for your bios.

STEP-6
Set the boot preference for ubuntu in the BOOT mode and also disable the secure boot. Now, the save the setting and computer will restart. If it doen't do this on his own press the start button.

STEP-7
You will see the Ubuntu installation black screen. There select ubuntu.

STEP-8
After that there will be two options. Since we are trying to install ubuntu, so go for install ubuntu.

STEP-9
Select the country and keyboard according to your preference.

STEP-10
Now choose b/w minimal or normal installation.

STEP-11
Select the option install Ubuntu alongside Windows Boot Manager.

STEP-12
It will automatically assign half of the space for ubuntu and your Windows.

STEP-13
Now after that select the country and give your name, name for computer and password.

STEP-14
After installation, you will get the option of restart now. Click on that.

STEP-15
As computer restarts, it will ask to remove the bootable device. Remove it. And then, you are all ready to go.
