Recruiters spend seconds on the headline row. If the text does not parse as a role, a domain and a single value, the profile is skipped.
Treat the headline as a search result, not a mood board. Put seniority, “Senior”, “Lead”, “Principal”, and the primary tech stack right up front. Those tokens are what the LinkedIn index matches when a sourcer types “senior python engineer” or “lead data scientist”.
Clarity signals competence. A headline that reads “Full‑stack engineer, building resilient e‑commerce platforms” tells a recruiter what you do and the impact you aim for. A cryptic line such as “Creative mind seeking the next big thing” reads as spam and drops out of the filter.
Leave the poetry for the About section, where you can elaborate on motivations, culture fit and personal projects. Keep the headline lean, searchable, and honest, that’s the only way to surface when a recruiter clicks “search”.
